My submission for the Dragon's Rise artstation challenge, based on the concept of Gokhan Kahraman (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/G8G8E3). The environment was made in UE4 in one month, with all the assets and materials made from scratch.
My goal for this project was to use Houdini in many parts of my pipeline. I made 3 Houdini tools to procedurally generate and position the water terraces, the wooden bridge composing the whole village as well as wooden fences. Houdini was also use to scatter most of the vegetation in the terraces and on the vertical posts.
Doing everything from scratch, I also used Houdini to quickly model high poly versions of the ferns and the hanging moss, that were then baked to textures mapped onto planes.
